사이트리뷰[Review]: (소개부분에 링크)
미디블 2 토탈워는 모두가 알다시피 턴제 내정화면과 실시간 대규모 전투화면으로 나뉜 토탈워 시리즈 중 하나입니다.
비록 미디블 토탈워, 로마토탈워와 미디블 2 토탈워 밖에 안해봤지만 미디블 2 토탈워가 제일 나은 것 같습니다.
그 이유는
1. 전투지속시간이 비교적 긴 작품에 속해 입문자들도 쉽게 빠져들 수 있는 난이도.
2. 중세시대이기에 풀플레이트아머를 입은 기사들의 돌격을 볼 수 있는 매력적인 시대를 배경으로 한 점.
3. 당시에는 높은 사양이었지만 현재는 인텔 내장그래픽으로도 구동가능한 게임이라는 점.
제 노트북 경우에는 Intel HD graphics(하위 라인업)인데 중옵 정도에서 유닛스케일 많음에서 풀군단 전투 가능합니다.
그렇기에 데스크톱이나 노트북 사양이 낮으신 분들도 즐길 수 있습니다.
4. 엠파이어 토탈워 때부터 이상하게 무조건 1:1로 싸우는 엔진이 적용이 안된 작품인 것.
솔직히 최근작들이 유닛 전투 애니메이션이 훨씬 낫습니다. 이건 반론의 여지가 없죠.
하지만 전투가 1:1의 연속이기 때문에 전투 안에 일어나는 다이나믹하게 일어나는 사건들이 없습니다.
예를 들면 보병기사대가 중보병대와 싸울 때 당연히 보병기사대가 이기는데 이때 그 전투 안에서 2명의 중보병이 덤벼들어 번갈아가며 보병기사대의 공격 애니메이션 시전을 캔슬해서 이기는 장면을 볼 수 있습니다.
최신작에서는 1:1로 싸우고 다음 상대에서 더 강한 상대가 지더라도 그때 느껴지는 자연스러움은 다릅니다.
전 개인적으로 최신작에서 두 유닛이 만나서 전투애니메이션이 재생되는 듯한 느낌이 싫더라고요.
이건 개인적인 거라 참고만 하시길.
5. 아직도 살아있는 모드 커뮤니티. 유명한 로마토탈워 모드인 EB 모드의 계승작인 EB II가 제작 중에 있습니다.
기존의 인기있는 모드들도 플레이타임을 연장시켜주는 역할을 해줍니다.
결론 : 저사양 유저들의 토탈워 입문작으로 손색이 없는 작품입니다.
ps. 롬토 2 하다가 비잔티움 제국 해서 옛 로마 제국의 영광을 되찾는 플레이 꿀잼임ㅋㅋㅋ

토탈워 시리즈중 가장 재미있는 시리즈를 꼽으라면 단연컨데 미디블2 였습니다.
물론 현재 시점에서 플레이 하기엔 그래픽이 너무 오래되서 예전같은 칭찬만 할 순 없겠지만요.
아마 많은 분들이 이 작품으로 토탈워에 입문했으리라 생각합니다. 그래서 저처럼 미디블3를 기대하시는 분들도
많을거라고 보네요. 추천하는 모드로는 SS와 TA모드 그중에서도 MOS (Mos For Ta, 일명 반지모드) 추천합니다.
