The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack is a new playable campaign for ROME II, which rivals the original ROME II Grand Campaign in both scope and scale. This campaign comes as part of Total War™: ROME II – Emperor Edition and is available as a free, automatic update to existing owners of Total War™: ROME II.
The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack is set in 42 BC during the chaotic aftermath of Caesar’s grisly murder. The republic remains whole, but its soul is divided as three great men, the members of the Second Triumvirate, hold the future of Rome in the palms of their hands.
Octavian, Caesar’s adoptive son and the heir to his legacy.

롬토1이 분위기와 컬트적 풍이 매력이라면
롬토2는 가오와 가오다. 대대병영 짓고 아퀼라 코호트 뽑아내기 시작할때부턴 군단병 사열은 아마 이 게임의 진수가 아닐까.
가문 시스템은 좀 어케 개선좀 해줘라. 후반부되면 안그래도 루즈해지는 캠페인 한계가 가문 시스템 때문에 더더욱 지침.

2013년 가을에 이 게임을 거금을 들여 소장판(Collector's Edition)으로 구매했습니다.
그런데 게임이 안돌아갔어요. 전투에만 돌입하면 CTD가 발생하고, 메인맵화면은 여기저기 깨져있고..요즘 실패작이라고 욕먹고 있는 폴아웃76이나 앤썸보다 더 했습니다. 결국 제게 남은 것은 소장판이랍시고 껴준 모형발석차뿐이었죠. 20만원 가까운 거금을 들여서 겨우 모형발석차 하나 장만했나 하는 자괴감 때문에 잠을 못이룬 나날만 생각하면 지금도 키보드를 박살내고 싶은 기분입니다.
그러나 거듭된 패치들로 이제는 하나의 완성된 작품이 되었다고 평가할 수 있을 듯해요. 로마는 하루 아침에 건설된 것이 아니듯, 로마 토탈워도 수년에 걸친 패치 끝에야 완성되었네요. 개인적으로 롬토1에 비해서 가장 아쉬운 부분이었던 가계도까지 이제는 제대로 구현되었어요. 롬토1에서는 엉망이었던 고증부분도 개선되었구요. 또한 전작에서는 형식에 불과했던 해전도 구현되었지요. 요컨대, 이제는 명작으로 칭송받은 전작과 비교해도 뒤쳐지는 구석이 없어 보입니다.
그래서 저도 이제서야 추천하는 평가글을 남길 수 있게 되었어요. 5년전만 해도 제가 이런 글을 남기게 될 줄은 상상도 못했지요. CA가 진작에 이 상태 그대로 발매했다면 GOTY는 따놓은 당상이었을 거예요. 이제 곧 삼국지 토탈워가 발매될 예정이나, 삼국지보다 고대 로마시대를 더 선호하시는 분들에게는 이제는 거리낌없이 강려크하게 추천합니다.
