이 게임은 각각 다른 활동 또는 활동 클러스터를 자세히 설명하는 8개의 주요 챕터로 나누어진 비주얼 노벨로 진행됩니다. 플레이어의 결정은 게임의 어떤 엔딩이 달성되는지를 결정하며, 각 챕터에서 다음 챕터로 이어지는 진정한 엔딩은 하나만 있습니다. 끝까지 살아남으려면 Sachiko처럼 생각하고 그녀를 가장 기쁘게 하는 선택을 해야 합니다. 그러나 사상자가 가장 적습니다.

Sure, she may have reacted by becoming a bloodthirsty, vengeful spirit responsible for the deaths of countless other children, as well as their erasures from history, but everyone knows that in her heart of hearts, she’s just an ordinary, innocent little 7-year-old…right?
Well, no. Because you see, today is her birthday! She’ll be turning…7 again, naturally. But in celebration, she’s decided to grant all her victims 24 hours of amnesty from their suffering by gathering them all together for a…hysteric? birthday bash. There will be party games, entertainment, adventure, and most of all, romance!
Join Sachiko and the lovable cast of damned souls from previous Corpse Party games—along with a few new faces—as they take the very concept of genre and toss it aside. Prepare to experience terror, discomfort, joviality, and confusion in equal measure as Heavenly Host Elementary plays less-than-heavenly host to cooking contests, co-ed mixers, interpretive stage drama, traditional party games, and Lovecraftian horrors alike.

A (surprisingly) canonical “midquel” to Corpse Party and Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, taking place sometime during the course of those games, Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash recounts the bizarre events of vengeful ghost girl Sachiko Shinozaki’s one-of-a-kind birthday party held in the otherworldly school where so many lives have been lost in previous games: Heavenly Host Elementary.
The game plays out as a visual novel, divided into eight main chapters that each detail a different activity or cluster of activities. Player decisions determine which of the game’s endings is attained, with only one true ending from each chapter leading into the next. Surviving to the end will require thinking like Sachiko and making the choices that will please her the most…but with the fewest casualties.

게임의 내용은 사치코가 죽은사람들과 산사람들 싹다 모아서 연애유희를 테마로 문화제를 여는 것으로 시작합니다. 말이 문화제지 결국은 괴롭히는게 목적이며 보는사람들 눈은 즐겁지만 당한사람들 입장에서는 매우 큰 고통이라고 생각됩니다. 이번에는 텍스트 어드벤쳐로 선택지만 잘 선택하면 게임을 쉽게 클리어 할 수 있으며, 외전격인 만큼 길찾는데 시간을 투자 안해도 된다는 점에서 매우 좋았습니다.(필자는 길찾는거 매우 싫어합니다. 그놈의 잔키제로땜에 노이로제가 걸려서;;)
이게임은 과거 2012년에 PSP로 나왔고 그 당시에 인기가 많았던 만큼 유저 한글패치가 존재했습니다. 저는 그 당시에는 콥스파티 밖에 못해본 상태라 이게임을 전체적으로 이해를 못했는데 북오브쉐도우 블러드 드라이브를 클리어 한 상태에서 보니깐 공감이 가는 내용이 많더라구요. 몇몇 캐릭터들 역시 블러드 드라이브에서 다시 나오며 외전으로 치부되는게 작중 아이템중에 아무도 이날을 기억못한다는 아이템이 존재합니다. 이참에 블러드 드라이브도 스팀으로 출시 했으면 좋겠습니다.
